Emily Steers (she/her) holds a B.Mus in vocal performance from Mount Allison University, and an MA in community music from Wilfrid Laurier University. Her research examines LGBTQ+ community choirs, the types of social and communal networks that form within the choir, and the impact they have on the wider community in which they are situated. Currently, she is teaching full time and operates the Vocal Validation studio for transgender and nonbinary singers.
