Steve Ryan

As a graduate (2016) of the MA Community Music in the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance (IWADM) in the University of Limerick, Steve has extensive experience in working with and mentoring young bands and musicians and in a variety of specialised areas, such as youthwork, mental health, national schools, secondary schools, and 3rd Level Education. 

As Course Director of the MA Songwriting programme, Steve also lectures and tutors on a variety of courses in the IWADM, including the MA Music Therapy (Music Skills, Assistive Music Technology and Songwriting with Children), the MA Community Music (Songwriting Practice, Music Technology) and facilitates the Introduction to Songwriting Module across all Undergraduate Courses. Currently a PhD Arts Practice Researcher, Steve is nearing completion of his project “Articulating the fluidity of the song writing community musician in the field: An autoethnographic interrogation of creative self-expression and self-preservation.”
